After weeks of intensive debugging and optimization, my automated futures trading bot is finally reaching stability.
What happened:
The past weeks were a rollercoaster. Ghost orders, incorrect PnL calculations, positions without stop-loss protection, and an overly aggressive auto-tuner that kept reducing the bot's activity level after every single loss. Classic developer pain.
Key fixes implemented today:
✅ RSI override thresholds adjusted (was too restrictive at 10/90, now 30/70)
✅ Auto-tuner no longer panics after one loss - requires 3 consecutive losses before scaling back
✅ Loss cooldown reduced from 4h to 1h
✅ Added safety mechanism: positions auto-close if SL order creation fails
✅ Fixed duplicate bot instance conflict (V4 was still running alongside V5!)
Current setup:
Platform: Raspberry Pi
Exchange: Binance Futures Testnet
Leverage: 2x
Strategies: 4 (Trend, Balanced, Reversal, Statistical)
Risk per trade: ~150 USDT
Current challenge:
Market is in "no-man's land" right now - downtrend with neutral RSI. Bot is waiting for proper entry signals rather than forcing bad trades. Patience is part of the strategy.
Stats after reset:
Starting fresh with clean metrics. Win rate was suffering (16-22%) due to the bugs above. Let's see how it performs now.
