Stellar’s (@StellarOrg ) Protocol 28
, called Adapter, is now live on mainnet with upgrades for consensus and smart contracts.

The release ensures that the validators can start the process of voting even as the transactions are being delivered to the whole network. This will assist in keeping the consensus process running even when transaction data takes long to be delivered.

Adapter is also able to facilitate upgrades of shared code by a fleet of smart contracts by managing them from one reference point.

There is another feature that eases migration of contract data during structure updates.

Stellar says the upgrade is designed to support larger and more complex applications.
