The U.S. 10-Year Treasury yield crossed 5% today — a level not seen since 2023.
Why does it matter?
At these yields, bonds become increasingly competitive with equities, borrowing gets more expensive, and high valuations face a tougher test.
Meanwhile, Wall Street closed lower and semiconductor stocks were hit hard.
Now all eyes turn to the Fed.
The question isn’t just where stocks go next. It’s how much investors are willing to pay for risk when “safe” money yields ~5%.
