#worldlaunchesselfcustodyappin150countries World Money Starts Its 150+ Country Rollout: Will Payments Bring Users Back?
World is giving its financial services a dedicated home.
On September 17, 2026, World began rolling out World Money, a self-custody app combining stablecoin balances, international payments, trading and Mini Apps across 150+ countries. Features and eligibility vary by location.
Stripe-powered funding through Apple Pay starts in the United States. Existing World App and World ID App users can carry over their verification and credentials.
The app also offers Morpho-powered Earn programs for eligible assets. Rewards vary, withdrawals depend on liquidity, and deposited assets carry protocol risk. Those details matter when assessing the app’s financial features.
My take: the most useful test is the complete journey from receiving money to spending it. Sending stablecoins through a username could simplify payments, but everyday adoption also depends on convenient deposits, affordable conversion and reliable withdrawals in each market.
I would watch repeat payments, funded accounts and retention after promotional rewards expire. Those measures would show whether people are building a financial habit around the app. A broad rollout creates access; sustained use has to follow.
For the wider World ecosystem, smoother payments could become a practical reason to return regularly.
What would make you use a crypto payment app every week?
