At Just 19, He Had an Idea That Changed Crypto Forever 🚀
What if I told you that one of the world's most important blockchain platforms started with an idea from a teenager?
Meet Vitalik Buterin — the co-founder of Ethereum.
In 2013, Vitalik introduced the idea of Ethereum through a whitepaper. His vision was bigger than simply creating another cryptocurrency.
He wanted to build a blockchain that could do much more than transfer money.
💡 His vision? Smart contracts.
These would allow developers to build decentralized applications directly on a blockchain, without relying entirely on traditional intermediaries.
Here are 5 important milestones in Ethereum's history:
📌 2013: Vitalik proposed the Ethereum concept.
📌 2014: The Ethereum project gained momentum, and its initial token sale took place.
📌 2015: The Ethereum network officially launched.
📌 2016: The DAO hack triggered a major controversy and eventually led to the Ethereum–Ethereum Classic split.
📌 2022: Ethereum completed The Merge, transitioning from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake.
Today, Ethereum is much more than a cryptocurrency. It supports a vast ecosystem of smart contracts, decentralized finance (DeFi), NFTs, and blockchain applications.
But here's the interesting question:
If Ethereum had never existed, how different would the crypto industry look today? 🤔
