Turkey’s crypto story may be entering a new chapter
Türkiye has never been a country that simply watched crypto from the sidelines.
Strong interest in Bitcoin and altcoins, a large user base, and a growing local exchange ecosystem have made Türkiye one of the markets that continues to attract attention in the crypto space.
But I think we are now entering a different phase.
Regulation.
The inclusion of crypto-asset service providers within the regulatory framework of the Turkish Capital Markets Board marks a move toward a more structured and institutional market.
For me, the real question isn’t whether regulation is simply good or bad.
The real question is whether Türkiye can build stronger trust without slowing down innovation.
Because Türkiye already has something important:
A large community that is genuinely interested in crypto.
If strong exchanges, reliable custody solutions, blockchain startups, payment systems, and real-world use cases can be built on top of that foundation, Türkiye could become more than a country that uses crypto.
It could become a country that builds a crypto economy.
Maybe Türkiye’s real crypto story won’t be written by the price of Bitcoin.
Maybe it will be written by how strong its own digital-asset ecosystem becomes.
Do you think Türkiye can become a regional crypto and Web3 hub?
