For intraday traders and scalpers, the First Candle (Minute 01:00 - 01:15 WIB) when the news is released is a high-leverage slaughter zone. Why?
Terrible Widening Spread: The order book on the exchange thins out. Using a Market Order in the opening seconds of the news release is basically handing your money over to large slippage.
The Whipsaw Effect (Yo-Yo / Back-and-Forth): Small minute charts often jump upward to grab the Stop Loss liquidity of shorters, then immediately collapse within minutes to trap the buyers (chain Fakeouts).
⚠️ My Intraday Plan Tonight:
No Trading Zone: 15 minutes before and after the release of the official numbers (01:00 WIB). I choose to close positions or wait and see.
Hunting Liquidity Pools: I map the daily Swing High and Swing Low. If there’s a sharp spike that pierces those levels but is immediately closed back within the range area (Deviation), that’s where I look for confirmation of a reversal entry.
Focus on the Press Conference: The real trend movement for the intraday usually starts forming only when the Fed Chair begins speaking from the podium. Watch the narrative: is it a hawkish pause or a dovish hold?
