Lately while browsing Square, I've noticed quite a few accounts posting a dozen times a day like "Trust me - Open big long/short now - Big profit coming soon ❤️", complete with SL/TP and huge PnL screenshots. At first I was curious too, but after digging in for a while, I found some pretty clear patterns. Sharing this so everyone can be more careful when following any signal (not calling out anyone specific — this is a fairly common model).
🔍 Things worth noticing:
Wins shown in USDT amounts, losses shown only in % Winning trades usually come with a huge absolute number (thousands of USDT). Losing trades only show a percentage, with no USDT figure attached. It's quite possible winning trades are opened with large capital to make the number look impressive, while losing trades are opened with small capital so the % looks dramatic but doesn't actually hurt much — and the real dollar amount gets conveniently left out.SL placed way out at the top/bottom, TP placed very far away Sounds "technical," but with high-volatility coins this is actually a trick to create breathing room while waiting for a bounce. As soon as the price recovers even slightly into the green (nowhere near TP), they close early and screenshot it right away. The far-away TP mostly exists to justify the far-away SL — they rarely actually wait for TP to hit.Favoring high-volatility coins, avoiding BTC/ETH/SOL Small, low-liquidity coins (tokenized stocks, small caps) can swing 10–40% in just a few hours — perfect for producing eye-catching screenshots on a regular basis. BTC/ETH/SOL move much slower, so with a TP set that far out, it could take days to play out — not enough "material" to post content that often.Formulaic content, unusual posting frequency Nearly every post follows the same template: coin + Long/Short + SL + TP + a "Thank me later" line. Dozens of posts a day, thousands over a few years — hard to believe one person is manually doing technical analysis for every single trade at that pace.Always ends with a pitch to "Join Premium Signal" This is the real end goal: use a handful of cherry-picked results to build trust, then funnel people toward a paid group.
⚠️ Why smaller accounts tend to get hurt more: Traders with larger capital can flexibly close early or move SL to breakeven once in profit. Smaller accounts following the publicly posted SL/TP usually have to hold the position longer and take on more risk, since they don't have the same "early exit privilege" the poster does.
📌 A few quick tips to protect yourself: – Don't trust a single PnL screenshot — there's nothing verifying its source or whether it reflects a consistent track record. – Compare how wins vs. losses are presented — if wins are detailed and losses are vague, that's a red flag. – Learn to read charts yourself and take responsibility for your own trades — don't let FOMO from "huge profit" screenshots drive your decisions. – Nobody hands out easy money-making secrets for free — if a signal were truly that good, they wouldn't need to keep pitching it.
