Here is the critical distinction: a potential cryptographic vulnerability is NOT proof that the underlying system has been broken.

QUANTVANTA TAKE:

The real question is whether crypto infrastructure can adapt quickly without creating new security problems.

A rushed wallet migration can introduce address mistakes, phishing exposure and operational errors. Moving funds unnecessarily is not automatically safer than maintaining good security practices.

The smarter response is preparation: researchers need to test assumptions, wallet developers need secure migration pathways, and exchanges and custodians need credible contingency plans.

What would change my assessment? Reproducible cryptanalysis, independently verified vulnerabilities, or an official security advisory backed by technical evidence.

Until then, this is a serious security discussion not proof of an active cryptographic break and not, by itself, a reason to sell ETH.
