The new version introduces five major changes that could shape the future of the U.S. crypto industry
📌 What's changing?
✅ 1. New ethics rules for public officials
The President, Vice President, members of Congress, federal judges, and certain officials would be prohibited from issuing or promoting digital assets for compensation while in office. Large crypto sales would also require public disclosure
✅ 2. Protection for developers & self-custody
Non-custodial software developers and blockchain infrastructure providers would not automatically be treated as money transmitters Americans' right to self-custody their crypto would also be protected 🔐
✅ 3. Stablecoin reward rules clarified
Passive interest on payment stablecoins would be restricted. Activity-based rewards would remain allowed under certain conditions
✅ 4. Stronger enforcement against crypto crime
