What truly determines a protocol’s value isn’t hype, but whether its cash flow can be sustained. Many people study Crypto and, at first glance, look at the price. But recently, my research has increasingly shown me this: Price can deviate from value in the short term, but cash flow is much harder to lie about over the long run. The current market is still affected by macro liquidity, ETF fund flows, and interest-rate expectations, so short-term volatility remains. Institutional sentiment has improved compared with earlier periods, but the market is still a structural trend: capital is starting to lean more toward assets with strong fundamentals, rather than indiscriminate upside. So, I’m paying more attention now to a simple framework: Is this protocol worth long-term attention? I’ll look at four things in order: * Whether it continues to generate real revenue (Revenue) * Whether the revenue comes from genuine user needs * Whether the Token can capture protocol value (Value Capture) * Whether the current valuation still offers a margin of safety Price tells us what is happening today. Cash flow tells us what may happen in the future. I believe that projects capable of surviving cycles will very likely meet all four of these criteria. Studying price is about finding opportunities. Studying cash flow is about building understanding. #Crypto #DeFi #ValueCapture #Bitcoin #链上研究 What truly determines value isn’t hype.

Many people study Crypto and, at first glance, look at the price.

Price can deviate from value in the short term, but cash flow is much harder to lie about over the long run.

So, I’m paying more attention now to a simple framework:

Is this protocol worth long-term attention?

I’ll look at four things in order:

* Whether it continues to generate real revenue (Revenue)
* Whether the revenue comes from genuine user needs
* Whether the Token can capture protocol value (Value Capture)
* Whether the current valuation still offers a margin of safety

Price tells us what is happening today.

Cash flow tells us what may happen in the future.

I believe that projects capable of surviving cycles will very likely meet all four of these criteria.

Studying price is about finding opportunities.

Studying cash flow is about building understanding.

The real opportunities often appear when the market starts to bifurcate. The biggest change in the market recently isn’t about price going up or down—it’s that capital has started to become more selective. The macro environment still affects the entire Crypto market. ETF fund flows, interest rate expectations, and geopolitical risks remain key variables for short-term sentiment. The market is waiting for new macro signals, so volatility still persists. At the same time, I’m becoming increasingly focused on something else: Capital doesn’t flow equally into all projects. Protocols that can sustainably attract capital usually share a few common traits: * They address real user needs; * They have continuously growing protocol revenue; * The Token is able to capture protocol value; * The current valuation still offers reasonable room. So instead of guessing every day whether the market will rise or fall, I’d rather study: Why capital chooses to stay. In the short term, price is driven by sentiment, In the long term, value is supported by cash flow. This is also the direction I care about most in my current research on DeFi. Instead of following research trends, study value. #Crypto #DeFi #Bitcoin #ValueCapture #链上研究

Protocol Value ≠ Token Value The real thing worth studying is how value flows into the Token. In recent research on DeFi projects, one idea is becoming increasingly clear: Making money from the protocol does not necessarily mean the Token has value. When people study projects, they often focus on: - TVL - Revenue - User growth But what truly affects long-term valuation is the final step: Whether the value created by the protocol actually flows back to Token holders. Now, when I analyze a project, I will follow this process consistently: Business model → Revenue sources → Revenue quality → Value capture → Valuation (PS) → Investment decision PS can tell me “how many times’ valuation the market is willing to give,” while Value capture determines “whether the Token is worth owning.” Going forward, when I research DeFi, I’ll pay more attention to where the value flows—not just the size of the revenues. #crypto #defi #AAVE #Sky #ValueCapture

🎯 Today’s View What is truly worth studying isn’t whether the market is bouncing back, but what is supporting that rebound. Recently, market sentiment has shown some repair. After experiencing large-scale outflows, the BTC spot ETF has returned to continuous net inflows, indicating that institutional capital is beginning to reallocate into crypto. But at the same time, the market is still waiting for clearer macro policy signals. Institutional capital returning doesn’t mean the risk has already disappeared. So what I’m focusing on right now are three questions: * Has the capital come back? * Has liquidity improved? * Is the protocol continuously creating real revenue? Only when these three conditions appear together will the market’s recovery be more sustainable. Prices will rise, and they will also correct. What truly survives across market cycles are those protocols that continuously generate cash flow, have real demand, and can realize value capture. To study price is to look at today. To study cash flow is to look at the future. To study capital flows is to judge the trend. #Crypto #DeFi #Bitcoin #ValueCapture #链上研究 What truly supports the market isn’t just price

What truly supports the market isn’t just price
Bankless Co-Founder Dumps ETH: Network Bullish, Token Lagging? David Hoffman, a co-founder of Bankless, has dumped his entire ETH stack. His thesis isn't that Ethereum is failing, but that its success as a network – dominating stablecoins, DeFi, and L2s – may no longer directly pump the ETH token. He sees Ethereum as a 'giver' to its ecosystem, not a 'taker' of value. This move comes as ETH struggles to break key resistance levels, trading near fragile support. ETF flows are mixed, and on-chain demand isn't providing the consistent bullish signal needed. Hoffman's exit, from a long-time ETH evangelist, questions whether ETH is still the best financial vehicle for Ethereum's future growth. Hoffman claims he's not bearish on ETH, but rather sees better opportunities elsewhere, expecting no 'structural rerating' for the token. His decision highlights a growing debate about how value accrues within the Ethereum ecosystem, especially with L2s and applications capturing more of the economic activity. #eth #ethereum #bankless #hoffman #valuecapture
