Today it was $20,000.
That number sounds terrifying when you see it attached to Bitcoin, especially after watching BTC build so much value over the years. 😰📉
But after looking deeper into the analyst’s argument, I think the more interesting question isn't “Will Bitcoin crash to $20K?”
It’s what would need to happen for that scenario to become realistic?
Alessio Rastani expects Bitcoin could still rally over the next 3–6 months before entering a much larger bear market in 2027.
His key warning is $57K.
If BTC loses that level, he believes the next major area could be around $47K–$49K. From there, his longer-term bearish target sits around $20K–$25K by the end of 2027.
And honestly, this is where I get uncomfortable. 😟
Because the prediction isn't based on one bad day or one liquidation event. It comes from a broader Elliott Wave interpretation suggesting Bitcoin may have completed a major five-wave advance after reaching around $126K.
But there is an interesting contradiction.
The same analyst calling for a potential $20K Bitcoin also believes BTC can eventually reach $1 million.
Just not immediately.
His view is that Bitcoin may need another deep correction first, potentially even below $20K, before beginning another long-term expansion.
That made me think about how easily we confuse price targets with certainty.
$20K isn't guaranteed.
$1M isn't guaranteed either.
The real signal I'd watch is much simpler:
Does Bitcoin hold $57K, or does it lose it?
If $57K holds, the bearish $20K thesis becomes much harder to argue in the near term.
