“50% APY? 😳 I’m in!”
But the better question is:
Where does that yield actually come from?
Before depositing into a DeFi protocol, check these 4 things:
🔹 1. Yield source — Is it coming from real protocol activity, trading fees, lending interest, or token incentives?
🔹 2. Smart-contract risk — A vulnerability or exploit can potentially cause users to lose funds.
🔹 3. Liquidity risk — Can you actually withdraw when you want to?
🔹 4. Token risk — A high APY means little if the reward token loses most of its value.
A high APY doesn't automatically mean a good opportunity.
Understand the risk first. Chase the yield second.
