Many people are confused about the difference between Kaspa and Bitcoin. The key is in one word: BLOCKDAG. This is the data structure used by Kaspa, and it’s the main reason for its insanely fast speed.
🔴 How Bitcoin Works (Regular Blockchain):
- Blocks are created ONE BY ONE, lined up straight like a chain
- If two blocks are created at the same time, ONE HAS TO BE THROWN AWAY (resulting in an orphan block)
- As a result: it’s intentionally made slow (~1 block/10 minutes) to avoid collisions → transactions take longer to confirm
🔵 How Kaspa Works (BlockDAG):
- Blocks can be created TOGETHER IN VERY LARGE NUMBERS; they don’t need to be discarded
- All blocks are received & ordered using the GHOSTDAG rule
- Result: ~10 blocks/second → your transaction confirms in a matter of SECONDS, not minutes/hours!
Even better: Kaspa STILL uses PoW (mining) like Bitcoin. So security & coin distribution remain fair, not shifted to PoS that only benefits owners of a lot of coins.
