The Binance Angels share all about their Bitcoin Pizza Day!

There’s no party quite like a Binance party! On May 22, thousands of Binance users across 72 countries gathered to share a slice of pizza and celebrate a cornerstone event in the crypto community: Bitcoin Pizza Day.

Also present at these meetups were the Binance Angels, a group of passionate volunteers who dedicate their time to supporting the Binance community. Angels play an integral role in our ecosystem, from guiding new users on our platform to ensuring everyone has a blast during community meetups.

Four of our Angels volunteered to take us through their favorite Pizza Day moments and what this occasion means to them. To see the full rundown of events, check out this article: Here’s What Binance Got Up to on Bitcoin Pizza Day.

Meet BinanceHomie – Colombia

Hey! I’m BinanceHomie, Colombia’s first-ever Angel. During Bitcoin Pizza Day, two events ran simultaneously at different branches of the Irish Pub in Bogotá: one in Parque de la 93 and another in Cedritos. We also held a separate event on May 25 at the Irish Pub in Parque de la 93.

What role did you play in this event?

I helped handle the pizza tickets, ensuring participants followed the rules to receive their free pizza. I also stood on the sidewalk to invite bystanders to join us inside the venue and learn more about Binance.

What was your favorite moment?

My favorite moment was being able to participate in Bitcoin Pizza Day for the first time alongside my wife, pets, and the local Binance team. It was truly special to see pictures of me and my dogs featured on the Binance LATAM social media channels.

Finally, what does Bitcoin Pizza Day mean to you?

This day represents the future of crypto adoption. It’s a reminder of how a simple pizza purchase led to an innovative technology that many crypto believers see as the next step in finance.

Meet Chibi – Spain

Chibi here! Quick intro about myself: I translate Japanese anime, I enjoy creating NFT art, I’m part of a Web3 crowdfunding platform, and most importantly, I’m a passionate Binance Angel!

So what happened on Pizza Day? One of my fellow Angels and I found an abandoned puppy (we took him to a vet who cared for him), cleaned up the beaches, gave out free pizza, and ended the day at the Binance meetup in Malaga.

What role did you play in this event?

Since I live in Malaga, I helped out with pre-event ideas and hosted my fellow Binance Angels around town throughout the event. As someone who’s attended many events in the past, I also gave Angels some handy pointers on how to assist and connect with the Binance users in attendance.

What was your favorite moment?

My favorite moments were meeting Binance users face-to-face and having dinner with Binance employees and fellow Angels throughout the events.

Finally, what does Bitcoin Pizza Day mean to you?

It was the very first moment Bitcoin became a reality in everyday life. To me, Bitcoin Pizza Day will always be a day to celebrate.

Meet Real Jassia – Pakistan

Hi, I’m Real Jassia! As an Angel, I typically spend my time helping Binance users with common issues, moderating various Binance Telegram and Discord groups, and supporting online and in-person Binance events.

It was an exciting moment when people heard about this activity. This year’s event was Binance's first Bitcoin Pizza Day celebration in Pakistan. Everyone who came loved the activities, and those who were unfamiliar with the occasion were happy to learn about its history!

What role did you play in this event?

Around 500 people attended our meetup! My role was to help out across the entire event. I checked people’s tickets, guided them in the right direction, and helped distribute pizzas. I also ensured the tables ran smoothly by kindly asking people to leave after they finished their pizzas.

What was your favorite moment?

My favorite moment was giving pizza to a lady who came with her two children. The kids were so happy and excited to receive their pizza.

Finally, what does Bitcoin Pizza Day mean to you?

Pizza Day is a celebration of crypto adoption!

Meet Cryptobunker – Ivory Coast

Hello! I’m Cryptobunker — a trainer, crypto enthusiast, and BNB lover. My passion for crypto exploded during my self-learning on the Internet.

On Pizza Day, me and some Angels came together to celebrate Laszlo and his Bitcoin purchase 13 years ago!

What role did you play in this event?

I was a photographer, ensuring every moment got captured.

What was your favorite moment?

Cutting and eating the pizza, of course!

Finally, what does Bitcoin Pizza Day mean to you?

It’s a very big moment to celebrate. May 22, 2010, will always be an unforgettable milestone for crypto adoption.

The people at the restaurant really got to learn about Bitcoin and its use cases. The owner of the restaurant where we celebrated has even become somewhat of a crypto enthusiast.
