i used to hear “options” and immediately think complexity.

strikes, expiry, calls, puts… abeg 😭

but the more i learn about it, the simpler the basic idea becomes.

options give you more ways to approach your assets.

you can use them to hedge a position, manage risk, generate potential yield, or take a view on where the market might go.

and this is why i find onchain options interesting.

instead of just holding an asset and waiting for price to move, you have more tools to work with.

Ithaca is one protocol i’ve been exploring in this space, built around non-custodial and composable options.

still learning the mechanics myself, but i’m starting to see options less as some complicated trading instrument and more as another building block for DeFi.

more tools. more strategies. more ways to use your capital.

The more i learn about DeFi, the more i appreciate one simple idea:

You shouldn’t have to give up control of your assets just to access better financial tools.

That’s one thing that stands out to me about non-custodial options.

Options can give you more ways to manage positions, hedge risk or take a view on the market.

But if using them means handing your assets over to someone else, there’s still a trade-off.

This is where Ithaca gets interesting to me.

It’s built as a non-custodial, composable options protocol.

Your assets stay under your control while you interact with options onchain.

Simple idea, but an important one.

More financial tools shouldn’t have to mean less ownership.

That’s the kind of DeFi direction i want to understand better.

I’ve been on Binance for a while, but i’ve never really posted on Square.

I figured it’s time to change that.

i’ve been spending a lot more time learning about DeFi, Web3 and the different things being built onchain.

i’m still learning, so i’m not here to act like i have all the answers.

i just want to share what i’m learning, the projects i come across, and some of the things that genuinely catch my attention.

one of those projects right now is Ithaca.

i’ll be sharing more about it here as i learn more about what they’re building around non-custodial, composable options.
