NEAR is rebounding from the support trendline of its falling wedge, which shows strength at a key level.
What the chart shows
1) Falling wedge. Price has been compressing inside a falling wedge, and the bounce came right off the lower support trendline. A falling wedge is a pattern that often resolves upward, but only after a confirmed breakout.
2) Ichimoku cloud above. The cloud sits overhead as a major resistance barrier. Price has to enter and clear it before the bounce can be called a trend change.
3) Two levels to break. A breakout needs to clear both the wedge resistance trendline and the Ichimoku cloud. A close above both would be strong bullish confirmation and could start a significant rally.
Market context
- Price: ~$3.80 to $3.85
- 24h range: ~3.70 to ~3.93 (up to 4.15 on one source)
- 7-day change: about -20%, so the bounce comes after a sharp drop
- 24h volume: ~$470M to $530M
- Market cap: ~$5B
- All-time high: ~$20.44, so NEAR is about 81% below it
Levels I'm watching
Support: 3.70 (the day's low area), the wedge support trendline
Resistance: 3.93 to 4.15, then the cloud and wedge resistance trendline
My read: the setup is constructive because price defended the wedge support, but a rebound is not a breakout. I'd want a daily close above both the wedge resistance and the cloud, ideally on rising volume, before treating this as confirmed. A close below the wedge support would invalidate the pattern.
Keep a close eye on upcoming price action for breakout confirmation.
Do you think NEAR breaks the wedge or fails at the cloud?
