Base has activated Cobalt, its third major network upgrade, introducing new transaction controls for traders while broadening the tools available to companies that issue tokens on the Coinbase-incubated Ethereum Layer 2 network.
The upgrade is now live on Base’s mainnet. Its rollout focuses on two areas: a new capability called “Validity Transactions” and improvements aimed at businesses and other organizations managing token issuance on the network.
The changes reflect the widening range of activity taking place on Layer 2 networks. Base was developed to process transactions on top of Ethereum, offering an environment designed to support applications while remaining connected to Ethereum’s underlying ecosystem. أرادوا إعادة تموضع المشروع كـ طبقة تسوية مدفوعات لوكلاء الذكاء الاصطناعي — وهذا يحتاج سيولة Ethereum وليس Kusama.
🔴 4️⃣ القرار كان براغماتياً لا اختيارياً
بصراحة — الشبكة كانت تحتضر:
انخفاض مستمر في TVL والنشاط
المطورون هجروا Polkadot نحو Ethereum L2s
تكاليف الـ parachain slot عالية مقابل عائد قليل
الهجرة إلى Base كانت إما هذا أو الموت البطيء.

🟢 انتقلوا إلى #Base لأن النموذج القديم فشل في جذب المستخدمين، وBase توفر لهم سيولة Ethereum + نظام بيئي حي + فرصة إعادة الانطلاق تحت سردية AI Agents.
لكن 🔴 هذا لا يعني أن نجاح المشروع مضمون؛ الرهان جريء ومنطقي تقنياً واستراتيجياً، لكنه لا يزال غير مُثبت على أرض الواقع.
