My AI agent planned a 2:1 trade. The exit button had other plans.
LINK long autopsy, real fills:
🤖 Plan (placed by my Hermes agent, 20x isolated): • Entry limit 13.150, filled as maker • Stop 12.950 (risk ≈ $1.90) • Take-profit 13.550 (reward ≈ $3.80) • Size 9.5 LINK ≈ $125 notional, ~$6.25 margin
😬 What actually happened: • Closed at market 13.238, 56 minutes in • Gross +$0.84, fees ≈ $0.09 → net ≈ +$0.75 • That's 0.44R on a trade built for 2R • Fees ate ~10% of the win. Taker exit cost 3x the maker entry.
📈 The painful part: • Stop at 12.950 never came close. Low after entry: 13.091 • Price traded through the 13.550 TP about 12 hours later • 24h high 14.215, now ~13.98 (+13.6% on the day) • Holding the plan = +$3.80. Taking the itch = +$0.75
🧮 The math I keep relearning: With a 2:1 plan you only need to win >33% to break even. Cut winners at 0.44R while losers still cost 1R, and break-even jumps to ~69%. Same entries, same "edge", completely different system.
The agent's order logic was fine. The weak link was the human with a close button.
Rule going forward: once the bracket is set, the exit belongs to the bracket. Moving the stop to break-even is allowed. Grabbing crumbs isn't.
Do you let your stops and TPs do the work, or do you still babysit every trade?
This week's theme is "Keeps AI Agents in Check", and today's 7-letter word is exactly what I'd put on any bot that touches my wallet. 🤖🔒
No spoilers, but my path went: 🟨🟨🟨🟨 → 🟩🟩🟨🟨 → 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
Tip if you're stuck: think about what should happen when an agent runs too long or goes quiet. ⏱️

5 wins + a $50 trade gets you a share of the 10,000 USDC pool. Ends Sep 27.
Ich hatte recht mit $zec . Die Liquidation-Engine hat das nicht gekümmert.
Meine Woche in Futures, echte Fills: • BTC long 77,000 → 77,500.9: +$2.50 • ETH short 2,557 → 2,576: -$3.05 • ZEC short 1,441.12 → 1,431.32: +$2.82 • ZEC short noch einmal bei 1,510 (0.233 ZEC, ~$352 Notional)
Dieser letzte. Am 21. Sep ging der Docht bis 1,573. Ich wurde bei 1,567.28 zwangsliquidiert. Gegen mich: 3,8%. Verlust: -$13.35 PnL + -$4.28 Liquidation (Versicherungs-Clear) Gebühr = -$17.62.
Wo hat ZEC am selben Tag geschlossen? 1,470.95. Unter meinem Einstieg. Der Short wäre +$9.10 gewesen. Richtung stimmt.
+$66. Hat sich wie Genie anfühlt. 🧠
15. Sep: Noch einmal gekauft bei 0.0449. Es fiel, also habe ich auf 0.0429 gemittelt. Klassiker.
16. Sep, 03:42: Verlust begrenzt bei 0.0403. -$183. Hart, aber die richtige Entscheidung.
16. Sep, 04:08: 26 Minuten später stieg ich direkt wieder ein: Long bei 0.0412 mit ~10x. Rachetrade. 😤
17. Sep: STAR traf 0.0371. Liquidiert. -$75 mehr. 💀
Real talk though: before you hand a bot real funds, set spend limits, whitelist the pairs it can touch, and start with money you'd be fine losing to a bug. Agents don't get tired, but they also don't get nervous. That's a feature AND a bug.
Anyone else here running AI agents on their account? What's the first guardrail you set? 👇
$BICO Every time I buy #BICO, the price says "oh, he's here" and goes down another step. At this point I'm not an investor, I'm a bad omen. If #BICO ever pumps, just know it's because I finally looked away.📉🧍 😅
