Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the bank transfer reference code?

When you make a bank transfer (deposit, withdrawal, or crypto purchase/sale) on Binance, you’ll see a unique reference code starting with and ending with B. The unique reference code identifies the specific Binance account and the amount of the transaction, which allows the system to credit the correct amount to the correct account.
Please note that you must include the reference code when making a bank transfer.

2. How to add the reference code to a transaction?

You must include the reference code when initiating a transaction. Typically, you can enter the reference code under “Reference”, “Message to Receiver”, "Originator to Beneficiary Information (OBI)", "Remittance Information", or similar fields.
In some cases, you’ll find multiple fields for entering references. Please enter the reference code under the correct field, or Binance won’t be able to view the code. You may contact your bank for further clarification on which field is applicable.

3. What happens if I forget to include the reference code or include the wrong reference code?

Your transaction will have to go through an additional review process before it can be credited to your account, which may take longer for the funds to arrive. There is also a possibility that the transaction will be refunded to your bank account after the additional review.
