Toncoin Name Change — Community Vote
The TON ecosystem has evolved significantly over the past few months. Telegram now plays a major role in the network and is set to become its largest validator. At the same time, the blockchain has achieved major performance improvements, processing transactions up to 10 times faster while reducing fees by a factor of six.
The name Gram was originally assigned to the network's token by the founders in the first TON White Paper and has remained embedded in the project's codebase ever since.l
For this reason, Telegram has proposed renaming the native token from Toncoin back to Gram, restoring its original identity.
The blockchain itself will remain TON (The Open Network). Only the token's name and ticker would change. Wallet addresses, balances, smart contracts, NFTs, staking, DeFi applications, and all other network functions will remain exactly the same. No token swap, migration, bridge, or claim process is required.
Security Notice:
Any website, bot, application, or link requesting that users "claim GRAM" or "migrate TON" should be treated as fraudulent.
Voting Details
The proposal will be open for voting for one week through TON Vote, a well established decentralized governance platform on TON.
Voting power is determined by the amount of TON held by each participant.
