Robinhood-backed DEX Arcus just fully expanded on Robinhood Chain with 95+ tokenized stocks + perpetual futures.
Spot trading is already live with zero fees and 24/7 access, and perps are rolling out (waitlist phase still for some, but the direction is clear).
These aren’t some synthetic weirdness either the Stock Tokens are issued and redeemable against Robinhood’s own infrastructure, self-custodial, and can actually be used as collateral for the perps.
Cross-margined, up to 50x on equities, commodities, indices, and crypto. All sitting on Robinhood Chain, the Arbitrum-based L2 that only went mainnet on July 1 and has already been punching way above its weight in DEX volume.
What makes this interesting to me is the combination. Most tokenized stock experiments so far have felt like demos limited assets, restricted hours, custodial, or just not liquid enough to matter. Arcus is going the other way: 95+ names (NVDA, TSLA, AAPL, MSFT, META, GOOGL, AMZN and a bunch more), zero fees on spot, full self-custody, and then layering actual leveraged products on top so you can trade the same exposure around the clock without needing a traditional brokerage account. Robinhood Crypto putting money into Arcus isn’t just branding either it’s distribution + liquidity + credibility in one package.
Robinhood Chain itself has been wild the last three weeks.
Launched with Uniswap, Chainlink, BitGo, and a few other serious players day one, and the volume numbers moved fast enough that it cracked the top 5 chains by DEX volume pretty quickly. Early activity had the usual memecoin chaos, but the RWA and perps side is clearly the long-term bet. Stock Tokens can move into DeFi, be used as collateral, earn yield in places the whole “real-world assets actually living onchain” thing people have been talking about for years is starting to look less theoretical.
Is it perfect? Of course not. Still geo-restricted (no US, Canada, UK and a few others), the tokens are economic exposure rather than actual share ownership, and leverage on equities is always a double-edged sword. But the architecture is different from most previous attempts. Self-custody + 24/7 + deep liquidity from a brokerage that already has tens of millions of funded accounts is a real unlock for people outside traditional market hours and outside the usual financial centers.
Feels like TradFi and DeFi are finally overlapping in a way that isn’t just marketing slides. Whether the volume and liquidity stick long-term is the real test, but the pieces are here now.
