In the history of Islam, many events took place that became a guiding light not only for the Muslim Ummah, but for all of humanity. Among them, the most prominent and deeply moving event is the event of “Karbala.” This was not merely a war; rather, it was a clear example of a clash between ideology, truth, and falsehood.
🌙 Background
The event of Karbala took place in 61 A.H., when Yazid ibn Muawiyah seized power over the Caliphate and demanded allegiance, and began shaping his own “shariah.” He started oppression and injustices against the Muslims, and committed disrespect toward the Sacred Ka‘bah. Then Imam Husayn (peace be upon him) raised his voice against his oppression, his fitnah (trial/tribulation), and the destruction of the religion. He chose to support the truth and to stand up against a tyrannical government.
🕋 The Journey of Imam Husayn (peace be upon him)
When Imam Husayn (peace be upon him) was forced to give allegiance, he was compelled to leave Madinah Munawwarah—leaving behind his grandfather.
Imam Husayn (peace be upon him) set out, on the night of 28 Rajab al-Murajab, with the caravan of his noble family toward Makkah al-Mukarramah.
But even at the Ka‘bah, a Yazidi army arrived with the intention to martyr Imam Husayn (peace be upon him). Imam Husayn (peace be upon him) showed that the Ka‘bah is a place of safety and that blood should not be shed here.

Surah Al-Fātiḥah is the first chapter of the Qur'an and is recited in every unit (rak'ah) of the Muslim prayer (Salah). It is a prayer that praises Allah and asks Him for guidance.
Verse-by-verse meaning:
1.In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
We begin by remembering Allah, who is full of mercy and compassion.
2.All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all the worlds.
Allah alone deserves all praise because He is the Creator and Sustainer of everything.
3.The Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
Allah's mercy is vast and encompasses all His creation.
4.Master of the Day of Judgment.
Allah alone has complete authority on the Day when everyone will be judged.
5.You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.
We worship only Allah and rely only on Him for help.
6.Guide us to the Straight Path.
We ask Allah to guide us to the path of truth and righteousness.
7.The path of those You have blessed, not of those who have earned Your anger, nor of those who have gone astray.
We ask Allah to keep us on the path of His righteous servants and away from the paths of those who rejected or strayed from His guidance.
Overall message:
Surah Al-Fātiḥah teaches believers to praise Allah, recognize His mercy and authority, worship Him alone, seek His help, and continually ask for guidance to the straight path.
