On-chain yield platform Altura tweeted that the approximately $21.88 million (about £16.446 million) it has stored in its bank account has been temporarily frozen by the bank, blocking its original plan to use the funds in that account to buy USDT through an OTC partner.
Altura said it has communicated with the bank about the matter and is currently waiting for the bank’s review to be completed. The bank indicated it will contact Altura separately if additional materials are needed. For now, the situation is entirely outside Altura’s control.
In addition, due to limited team capacity, Altura announced it will temporarily pause the community chat feature to focus on addressing the current issue. The team pledged that any subsequent progress will be updated promptly via official X, Telegram, and Discord, and urged the community to avoid speculation before official announcements confirm details.
Earlier, Foresight News reported that Altura announced an orderly shutdown of the Altura vault on June 22 due to a surge in withdrawals, and planned to reopen redemptions after converting the funds into USDT through an OTC partner.
