✅ Developing on blockchain isn’t for everyone. Sony thought that was the way forward, but things didn’t turn out as expected. The #Soneium network, which once surpassed +$200 million in TVL, today barely has $7 million. In addition, it generates revenue of only $83 per day. The network fell behind, and its time on the blockchain will be forgotten—far from the great successes the brand has built throughout its history, such as: - Walkman - PlayStation - Trinitron (TV) - Compact Disc (CD) - Cyber-shot (cameras) - Bravia (TVs) - Discman - Sony Music - Sony Pictures That’s the industry. What matters is to try and not fall behind.

🚀 Big Asian giants on board! Sony and Hyundai are betting big on stablecoins. The Web3 ecosystem doesn’t stop 🌐 Recently, one of the most important pieces of news for institutional adoption was confirmed. Major corporations like Sony and Hyundai are redefining their global operations by integrating stablecoins. 🎮 Sony is going for its own stablecoin on its network “Soneium”: Sony Bank has received conditional approval to issue its own 1:1 dollar-backed stablecoin. What’s most interesting is that it will run on Soneium, its own Layer 2 blockchain built on Ethereum. The goal is to integrate it at scale for native payments on PlayStation Network, streaming services, and anime—eliminating the costly fees of traditional credit cards. 🚗 Hyundai optimizes its global operations with USDT. The automaker giant is adopting USDT (Tether) as a key tool to improve the efficiency of its payments in international trade. By operating with USDT on already established networks such as TRON and Ethereum, the multinational can move cross-border capital immediately and with minimal costs. While Sony is betting on its own ecosystem and control thanks to its Soneium blockchain, Hyundai prefers to jump onto the crypto highways that already exist to speed up its global liquidity. Transactional efficiency is the real bridge to enterprise adoption! #Sony #Soneium #Hyundai $USDT #Web3

Last August, I wrote about the past and present of Japan's public chain Astar Network/Startale Labs. Astar Network is a Layer 1 public chain built on the Polkadot parachain. Startale Labs is the dev team behind the Astar Network public chain. Through tech collaboration, Startale Labs helped Sony's blockchain subsidiary, Sony BSL, set up the gaming public chain Soneium. However, Soneium is not a Layer 1 based on the Polkadot parachain; it's an Ethereum Layer 2 built on the OP-stack. Now, the Startale Labs team has launched the Startale App, which is a web-based mini-game app specifically for the Soneium gaming public chain. Polkadot and its parachains have been completely abandoned (what a waste of a good hand). Today, I tried out a few mini-games in the Startale App; the game quality is pretty decent, but the optimization still needs work, especially when connecting to the Soneium chain—it takes at least half a minute, which is a terrible waiting experience. However, considering these games only went live on May 13th, there's plenty of room for optimization moving forward, so I’ll keep an eye on it while playing. #Soneium #opstack #Polkadot {future}(DOTUSDT) {future}(ASTRUSDT)

Research on Blockchain Game Projects in the Polkadot Ecosystem in the Asia-Pacific Region (1) - Japan's Astar Network
Recently, when I had some free time, I researched the ecological development of Polkadot in Asia and found that Polkadot is ultimately a Western public chain technology ecosystem. This afternoon, I asked a circle of acquaintances who work in blockchain games, and none of them are working on projects in the Polkadot ecosystem.
However, during the inquiry, I also discovered several Polkadot projects belonging to the broader Asia-Pacific region, including Japan's Astar Network chain, New Zealand's Mnet Pioneer metaverse project, and I've heard that many anonymous gambling projects use Polkadot public chain technology.
Today, I'm looking at this Astar Network from Japan.
