The old dog scanned it.
$SPCX is currently reporting 135.42000, up 2.088% over the past 24 hours. Trading volume is 15085025.1504, and OI is 5384.25. The price is lifting, but the funding rate is still stuck at 0. The order book looks hot, but for now the perpetuals side doesnโt show obvious long/short overcrowding. This setup is more useful than simply looking at red/green candlesโat least right now itโs not a่กๆ
thatโs being forced higher by elevated funding.
For the semiconductor and AI chain, you need to look at the cycle position. The key variables are hard to avoid: inventory, pricing, and expectations for capital expenditures. As demand expectations improve first, price usually runs ahead. Only when orders and realized earnings become a consistent expectation will valuation pressure start to show.
$SPCX โs current 2.088% 24-hour volatility is relatively strong, but without comparable data from the same sector, I canโt confirm itโs leading the pack.
In the previous cycle at a similar position, the market also went through a process: expectations leading, validation following, crowded trading then amplifying volatility. I donโt have the specific months and outcomes from input data, so Iโm not going to force it with memory. Funding being 0 means longs and shorts are paying evenly balanced. If later it turns positive, then longs will be paying shortsโlongs begin to crowd in, and the risk of topping out and long liquidations should rise accordingly. If it turns negative, itโs shorts paying longs; with that, if price keeps rising, it would be more like the shorts are holding the line and getting squeezed.
My actions are very specific: 135.42000 is the level Iโm watching right now. If it loses that price and OI continues to increase, Iโll reduce to a lightly sized position first, to prevent additional entries from magnifying the selloff. Only if price reclaims that level and OI doesnโt surge in sync, will I consider adding back to a half position. If the market is calling the top just based on the 24-hour rise, I disagreeโsince zero funding hasnโt shown long overcrowding yet. If price rises and both OI and positive funding rate move up together, then I wouldnโt chase.
The old dog has also been harvested before by sudden flips after zero-fee ratesโthis time Iโll watch positions first, then talk about nerve.
