【Watching UNI fall 84%: what’s going through my mind】
Have you ever had one of those moments—you’re holding a position, but every time you open your market app, it feels like waiting for medical test results?
This time, I really do have UNI. Not just talking it up—I’m genuinely following it.
So where is UNI now? $ 7.24, moving sideways. Down 1% in 24 hours and 4% over seven days. Nothing too painful, but if you bought in above $ 15, those four points are enough to keep you up at night.
Honestly, after an 84% drop from the high, I’m not really comfortable calling this range “oversold” anymore. I used that word a lot in 2017, then learned there’s always a basement beneath the floor. So now I only ask myself one thing: at this price, am I willing to add to my position?
The answer is: I don’t want to, but I don’t want to sell either.
Why? $ 7.49 is a hurdle. If it gets past that, there may be a story; if not, it’ll just keep grinding sideways. If $ 6.87 breaks, then it’s not “consolidation” anymore—it’s a move downward, and I’ll have to recalculate my stop-loss level.
Has trading volume picked up? Some say big money is coming in; others say people are running for the exits. The most important lesson I learned in 2017 was that an increase in volume, by itself, doesn’t tell you anything. What matters is who’s buying and who’s selling. The problem is—you don’t know.
The DeFi story on the Binance chain has been going on for three years. Can UNI deliver now? I’ve asked myself that question many times. It has users, and it has TVL, but I honestly don’t know whether TVL can still support its valuation. Institutions are working on tokenization, and big banks are getting involved—but does any of that have anything to do with UNI? Yes, but you can’t see it in the short term.
So what’s my mindset right now?
I’m watching from the sidelines.
Not in the “I don’t care at all” sense. I really am watching. Until the bigger trend becomes clear, I’d rather miss this move than go through another round of thinking “I’m a genius” and then getting taught a lesson by the market.
But I also know that even after saying all this, I’ll still get itchy trigger fingers.
What about you? If you’re holding UNI, what’s your mindset now? Are you planning to ride this out, or have you already made a move?
