Holcim to Sell Philippine Business to Huaxin in Deal Worth at Least $807 Million
🏗️ Holcim has signed an agreement to sell its Philippine operations to Huaxin Building Materials, beginning with the transfer of a 67.623% stake for $527 million.
💰 The remaining interest is expected to be divested within 3–5 years for at least $280 million, bringing the deal’s minimum total value to $807 million. The first phase is expected to close in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.
📊 Holcim Philippines has annual cement capacity of around 10 million tonnes, supported by a nationwide network of plants, ports and distribution facilities.
🌍 The transaction supports Holcim’s portfolio restructuring and its focus on funding acquisitions in priority markets. For Huaxin, it represents a significant expansion into Southeast Asia following several asset purchases from Holcim in Africa.
⚖️ Key risks include regulatory approval and the multi-year disposal of the remaining stake, although the companies’ established relationship may support execution.
