Coinbase opens another door. On July 6, Grove (GROVE) spot trading officially launched on Coinbase. The GROVE-USD trading pair will open for limit orders once liquidity conditions are met.
For a new token, getting listed on Coinbase usually signals two things: first, an initial compliance endorsement; second, the USD funding channel has been opened, and the radius for retail and institutional participation will expand significantly. However, as the saying goes, the phrase “opens after liquidity conditions are met” is key—during the early days the order book is thin and spreads are wide, so price volatility is often severe. The cost of chasing higher prices may be far beyond what you imagine.
From a personal perspective, focus on three points:
1. The depth and buy/sell order structure during the first hour after opening, to judge whether the market makers are in place;
2. The price difference versus other platforms—the arbitrage window usually lasts only a few minutes;
3. The project’s own unlocking schedule and the distribution of on-chain holdings—don’t just look at the “spotlight” aura.
Emotion can easily set the pace; discipline is what truly determines profit and loss.
