🚨 The U.S. House has canceled its final two weeks of scheduled September sessions, creating a tight window that puts the CLARITY Act in jeopardy.

House Republican leaders announced they are dropping the planned voting weeks of September 21 and 28. Lawmakers will now leave Washington by September 17 after a short return starting around September 14. This comes just two days after the Senate’s first scheduled procedural vote on the bill (around September 15).

The CLARITY Act (Digital Asset Market Clarity Act) is the major bipartisan crypto market-structure legislation that already passed the House in 2025. It aims to clarify regulatory oversight between the SEC and CFTC, set rules for exchanges and intermediaries, and provide clearer guidelines for digital assets. If the Senate advances an amended version, the House would normally need time to review, reconcile differences, and vote again before the bill could go to the president.

With the House heading home so quickly and not expected back for regular legislative work until after the November midterms, there is almost no practical time left to finish the process this year.
