🚨 Everyone’s watching the $ZEC price. I ended up digging into the on-chain numbers instead.

ZEC is sitting around $1,190, with a market cap near $20.1B and roughly $1.9B in 24H volume.

But this is what caught my attention: Zcash is averaging around 12,658 transactions a day, more than 5x a year ago. About 7,213 of them — 57% — are shielded transactions.

And roughly 4.87M ZEC, or 28.8% of the issued supply, is now sitting inside shielded pools. That’s around $5.9B worth of ZEC.

So for me, ZEC right now isn’t just a crazy price chart.

The price is moving fast, but the numbers underneath it are getting interesting too. 👀
