Cointelegraph is starting to regain visibility in Google Search after nearly 11 months of sharply reduced organic traffic.
The increase began around August 30, when Google stopped applying site reputation abuse manual penalties to search results shown within the EEA.
By September 7, Ahrefs estimated Cointelegraph at 4,433 monthly organic visits, up from nearly zero, while Semrush showed 5,387.
Cointelegraph’s search decline began in October 2025. The publisher later removed its iGaming section, which had hosted third-party gambling content and triggered a manual penalty from Google.
Google’s policy change applies only to searches made within the EEA. Enforcement remains unchanged outside the region.
