The leading Brazilian cryptocurrency exchange, Mercado Bitcoin, has suspended withdrawals *after approximately $40 million in digital assets were drained across 10 blockchain networks,* according to latest reports.
The attacker reportedly holds roughly
* 2,852 ETH, * 106 BTC, * 10,700 SOL, * 6.7 million XLM and * 77,000 AVAX, plus more than 200 other tokens, reports claims.
The incident *comes* amid heightened scrutiny of cryptocurrency security *following a separate $6.3 billion breach at Binance* which the FBI has attributed to North Korean-linked hackers.
BTC: $76,850–77,000 (−1.2%). The morning's push to $78,764 failed and BTC bled the whole session, closing near the day's low of $76,876. That's a clean rejection of $78K.
ETH: $2,260–2,283 (−0.3% to +0.7%), fading from $2,315 but still holding the green relative to open. ETH/BTC advantage is intact.
TON (Gram/GRAM): $1.19–1.21 (−1.8%), the weakest of the three and near its multi-month low ($1.15 on Oct 30).
Mood: the day's story is a failed breakout. Derivatives volume expanded while price fell — that's distribution, not accumulation. Fear & Greed still ~35 (Fear), dominance back toward 60%.
Levels that matter now: $76,000 is the stated support and it's close. If BTC loses it, the $75K area opens up. Above, $78K needs to be reclaimed and held, not just tagged.
This week is the real test — US midterms, nonfarm payrolls, tech earnings. Volatility likely picks up from here.
BTC: $77,900–77,940 (+0.3–0.8%). It poked above $78,000 and even tagged $78,251 intraday, but settled back under $78K — no clean breakout. Day range $77,400–78,251.ETH: $2,265–2,268 (+0.5–1.2%), essentially flat vs BTC; ETH/BTC steady near 0.0292. High $2,278.TON (Gram/GRAM): ~$1.22–1.23, holding the day's strength — best of the three.Mood: quiet Sunday close. BTC dominance ~60%, derivatives volume still fading, Fear & Greed 34 (Fear). Net: a soft +0.5% day, no conviction. The level that matters tomorrow is $78K on BTC — reclaim and hold it, and the mood flips; lose $77,400 and Sunday's bounce unwinds. #btc #marketupdates
New month, new quarter. Here's your Thursday crypto snapshot:
*Bitcoin (BTC):* ~$83,756 — holding the $83K level after yesterday's consolidation. Q3 closed in the red but the recovery is holding.
*Ethereum (ETH):* ~$2,693 — fighting to stay above $2,700. Mixed signals as we open Q4.
*Toncoin → Gram:* ~$1.48 — stabilizing after a volatile week post-rebrand. Watching for a base.
Overall: a cautious Q4 open — majors consolidating, no clear direction yet. October historically a strong month for crypto ("Uptober"). Watch for a breakout above $84K BTC — that could set the tone for the month.
