@grvt_iowrapped Season 2 this week official numbers dropped: $341B+ traded, 86 real world assets live, $439M in deposits, ~67% of traders coming back every single week. All non custodial, per #grvt . That last stat is what made me stop mid task, honestly.
Because here's the thing about GRVT account abstraction that nobody markets loudly, it's not really about hiding complexity, it's about splitting identity from execution. You sign up with email or Google OAuth, that's your on chain credential, sure, but it does nothing.
Can't touch a single dollar. Every actual trade needs the SecureKey MPC and biometrics is signing it. So the flexible auth pitch reads like a CEX onboarding flow but underneath it's stricter than most self custody setups I've used.
Tried logging a test order without re verifying the key mid session… didn't go through.
Small friction but it clicked, the abstraction layer isn't there to make custody optional, it's there to make convenience not compromise custody. Two different jobs, kept deliberately separate.
Makes me wonder how many of that 67% weekly return figure even know which part of their account is doing the actual signing.
GRVT hasn't launched yet July 21, they're saying, so this whole architecture's been carrying real volume pre token. Curious if that ratio holds once incentives shift toward the token itself. #grvt
