Locked tokens don't stay locked — now a London court will decide what that's worth.
DWF Labs affiliates DWF Maas and Falcon Digital have sued crypto custodian BitGo in the London High Court, seeking $141 million in damages. They allege BitGo received Falcon Finance (FF) and ESPORTS tokens at a discount in exchange for a three-month lock-up, then moved them onto exchanges roughly two months before the first unlock — flooding illiquid markets and driving prices down. DWF says it raised the issue with BitGo in April and May; BitGo declined to comment.
The takeaway: in private OTC token deals, the discount is priced on trust in the lock-up. When a custodian becomes the seller, contracts get stress-tested in court.
Your Bitcoin wallet math homework just got harder.
Washington just wound the "Q-Day" clock tighter: the White House 6B science package includes a DOE competition with up to $215M for quantum computing. Meanwhile Ethereum researcher Justin Drake warned AI could crack the math shielding crypto wallets sooner than expected — while Bitcoin Core developer Antoine Poinsot pushed back, calling the panic evidence-free.
Is your $BTC at risk tomorrow? No — but the clock is ticking. Zcash already aims to ship quantum-resistant payments by January.
Takeaway: the market has not priced quantum risk yet, but the smart builders are preparing for when, not if. Not financial advice.
Thailand's SEC has finalized the rules letting local asset managers list spot Bitcoin and Ether ETFs on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, effective October 16. The bar is strict: single-asset passive tracking, at least 80% net exposure to the coin, SEC-regulated custodians — and no margin loans for buyers.
The door opens wider too: Thai mutual funds and private funds can now hold locally listed crypto ETFs, instead of only foreign ones.
Bitkub's co-founder put it well, pointing to the US spot ETF precedent as having "created new avenues" for investors. Thailand is now building its own on-ramp.
AguilaTrades is back — and the return has been brutal. On-chain trackers show roughly $700K of fresh capital has shrunk by nearly 80% in just two days, with another $250K stop-loss on a short reported by Odaily.
Across the same ledger, the biggest long on Hyperliquid sits on $8.77M of floating profit, with year-to-date gains now at $116.7M.
Same market, same platform, wildly different outcomes. Leverage does not choose sides — it amplifies whoever reads the tape better.
Thursday’s flush wiped out $1.19B in crypto positions in 24 hours — and ether took the worst of it. ETH saw $356M in liquidations vs $298M for BTC, roughly six times the damage relative to market size, per CoinDesk. The slide followed hawkish Fed minutes and fresh Iran jitters, dragging BTC from ~$83,200 to ~$80,400. Then the twist: Trump said the U.S. would not strike Iran before the midterms, lifting BTC back toward $82,600 and turning liquidation pressure onto bearish traders. Meanwhile $2.16B in BTC+ETH options settled on Deribit with both assets trading below max pain. Leverage gives, and leverage takes. Red numbers on the ETF tape: US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $484.9M in net outflows on Oct 7, the biggest single-day exit since late June. BlackRock IBIT led with $207.7M out, followed by Fidelity FBTC at $105.1M and ARK ARKB at $101.7M. Ethereum ETFs faced the same pressure — $160.9M left in a day, extending their outflow streak to seven straight sessions. Context matters: this came after a sharp five-day cool-down from the mid-September inflow frenzy ($341.7M per day), and with BTC trading below the estimated $84,318 average cost of ETF holders, some redemptions look like loss control, not panic. Institutional demand is not gone, but it is clearly on pause.
