Ethereum Foundation announces the launch of zkAPI

#EthereumFoundation has launched #zkAPI , enabling users to pay for #Aİ models and other metered APIs while keeping their identities private. The Foundation developed zkAPI with the Open Anonymity (OA) Project, an open-source AI privacy initiative, and has deployed it on #Ethereum mainnet. To use zkAPI, users must deposit ETH or USDC into an Ethereum vault, where their balance is recorded as a private note. zkAPI then uses zero-knowledge proofs to verify payments without revealing the underlying deposit.

A zkAPI server verifies the zero-knowledge proof and issues a temporary API key with a spending limit. Users send prompts directly to the AI provider, while usage is deducted from their private balance once the key expires. Each payment also generates a unique nullifier to prevent double-spending without revealing other information.

SBI Holdings has completed its acquisition of Bitbank

#SBIHoldings has completed its full acquisition of Japanese cryptocurrency exchange #Bitbank . The transaction was completed through Bitbank’s repurchase of its own shares from MIXI and Ceres. Following the deal, SBI VC Trade President Tomohiko Kondo will join Bitbank’s board, while Bitbank CEO Noriyuki Hirose is expected to become an external director of SBI VC Trade. The deal was initially valued at ¥46.7B ($288.6M) when announced in June.

Base announces the launch of Cobalt upgrade

#Base has rolled out the #Cobalt network upgrade, introducing Validity Transactions for greater trader control and expanding functionality for its #B20 token standard. Validity Transactions allow users to submit time-bound transactions that stay inactive until predefined conditions are met, giving them greater control over when and under what criteria transactions are included on Base.

The upgrade also expands the B20 token standard with new features, including Composite Policies, scheduled multiplier updates, and the seizeWithMemo function. Over the coming month, Base plans to introduce 200ms blocks with the same reorg guarantees, native smart-account support for gas sponsorship and batching, and select Glamsterdam EVM upgrades.
