Canary wants at least 90% of the $SEI in its proposed ETF staked.
That sounds straightforward — until investors want their ETF shares redeemed.

Staked SEI can earn native rewards, but the filing discloses a 21-day unbonding period.

So the proposed product creates an unusual tension:
more SEI working → more staking economics

but:
more SEI staked → less immediately available liquidity.
That's the real story behind Canary's September 15 amendment.

The filing says the Trust may maintain unstaked SEI reserves and potentially use credit facilities to manage liquidity.

And the institutional infrastructure is already visible: Jane Street, Virtu, Cumberland DRW, Kraken and BitGo appear in the filing as counterparties/service providers.
