SUI: Where Is the Ecosystem Heading Toward in 2030?
Sui is a Layer-1 blockchain launched in May 2023, developed by Mysten Labs. Sui uses the Move language and an object-centric architecture, targeting applications such as DeFi, gaming, payments, and digital assets. After more than 3 years of operation, what is noteworthy about Sui is not only the price of SUI, but also the expansion of the ecosystem. According to DeFiLlama data at the time of writing, Sui has around $529 million in DeFi TVL, $476 million in stablecoin market cap, $36.9 million in RWA Active AUM, and approximately $405 million in DEX volume over 7 days. In the past 24 hours, data recorded around 165,000 active addresses and more than 35 million transactions. On-chain metrics change continuously, so these figures are only those at the time of writing.
Everyone wants to be rich, but how many are willing to sit still and wait.
When prices fall, everyone panics and hastily lets go. I don’t let go, because I understand: when hearts are in chaos, opportunities emerge.
Now the fruit has ripened, so I pick it. But I also know this: what the sky gives today, tomorrow the sky will take back. The wise don’t win forever; they simply know when to stop at the right time. If you can take it, take it—if it’s enough, then stop.
Better to miss an opportunity than to let an opportunity miss me.
September 24 is a notable day for the Sui ecosystem as Phantom officially ends support for the Sui network.
According to Phantom’s announcement, starting from September 24, 2026, the app will no longer display Sui balances, support Sui transactions, or allow interaction with assets on the Sui network. Phantom also confirmed that ending support does not mean assets on the blockchain are lost, because the assets still exist on Sui.
This is a two-sided event.
On the negative side, a major wallet stopping support for Sui could reduce the ecosystem’s accessibility for a segment of Phantom users and create a cautious mindset in the short term.
On the long-term side, the event also shows that the Sui ecosystem needs to continue developing wallet infrastructure and user experience to reduce dependence on any single product.
In recent days, Sui has continued to roll out technology and ecosystem updates. On September 21, the Sui Foundation announced that GraphQL on Sui now supports real-time subscriptions, allowing applications to receive checkpoints, transactions, and events as soon as they occur. This is especially suitable for apps that require real-time blockchain data.
Therefore, September 24 may be a day worth monitoring for SUI, but it is not yet possible to conclude whether the Phantom event will create a specific price impact in any direction.
What is even more worth watching in the coming period is whether activity on the Sui network, the number of applications, stablecoins, DeFi, and real-world use cases will continue to grow.
