The Withdrawal Address Manager is yet another security feature offered by Binance. When activated, this functionality ensures that your account only makes withdrawals to previously authorized addresses. The list of authorized addresses is called whitelist.
In other words, the addresses you add to the whitelist will be the only ones capable of receiving funds from your Binance account. This is very useful because if you become a victim of phishing and a hacker breaks into your account, he will not be able to transfer your money.
How to Activate
After logging into Binance, go to your account page and scroll down until you see the Withdrawal Address Management tool. Activate the option and then you will see a confirmation window like this:
After clicking OK, you will need to enter your 2FA code. If your 2FA is disabled, we highly recommend enabling it.
After that, click on the Address Management option. You will be redirected to another page where you can select which coins can be sent and to which addresses. After choosing the currency, enter a security and the address that will be authorized. Make sure the address provided is correct, check the box and click Submit.
You will need to enter your 2FA code once again and you will receive a confirmation email shortly afterwards.
Click Confirm Add to complete the process and you will see the following message:
Now that your withdrawal address has been whitelisted, you can go to your Binance account and check the withdrawals page.
As you can see, you will only be able to transfer your BNBs to that particular address (or any other address you add to the Whitelist). It is impossible to select any other address that is not on the whitelist.
It is very important that you activate the Withdrawal Address Manager, this way a new layer of protection is created and the risk of having your funds stolen decreases.
