Sui development company Mysten Labs recently announced that starting from May 15, the games of its 11 game partners will be launched on the Sui blockchain.
Different from some established Web3 game networks, Sui, which was only launched on the mainnet on May 3 this year, is not compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine EVM. Based on its ability to process transactions in parallel and scale out by adding more nodes to meet demand, Mysten Labs believes the Sui network’s inherent gaming appeal will enable it to appeal to mainstream gamers.
PANews has reviewed the relevant information of the 13 games that will be launched. Overall, in the first month of the Sui mainnet launch, the first batch of games launched in the ecosystem are quite focused on speed rather than quality. Good suspicion. Most of the 13 games mentioned in this article are very niche. There are only a handful of game communities with more than 10,000 people. The status of some development teams is also unknown, so their appeal to players is relatively limited. Games with a certain player base, such as Project Eluune and Panzerdogs, have already been launched on Solana.

The Walking Dead will be available from June 5th to June 11th. Orange Comet has built an open metaverse called TWDL (The Walking Dead Lands) based on the world view of the TV series "The Walking Dead" of the same name. Players can build and upgrade lands, buildings and communities while receiving rewards. The TWDL universe requires 4 NFT components to activate the game: vehicles, avatars, tools, and weapon NFTs, in addition to a total of 50,000 plots with different characteristics for players to own. According to information disclosed by Orange Comet, The Walking Dead's project progress has lagged behind the road map, and many tasks on the road map have not been delivered. So what version will be launched on Sui from June 5 to June 11? Still unknown.

Degens & Dragons has the same name as a well-known board game owned by game developer Wizards of the Coast. In mid-January this year, the latter banned NFT and other derivative Web3 content due to opposition from fans and the community. However, things turned around at the end of that month. Community members After voting overwhelmingly against the ban, Wizards of the Coast gave up on restricting derivative NFT projects. Currently, Orange Comet has not disclosed information about Degens & Dragons, and no relevant content has been found on social media.

The game supports integration with multiple blockchains, but can also be played as a pure Web2 game. Through integration with Secret Network, NFT holders of in-game hero characters Catyclops and Anons can access unique character skins. Onenet plans to launch additional in-game cosmetics in the form of NFTs in the future, as well as ONET, an in-game currency that will be used in Bushi and other Onenet games. Bushi will be available on Sui from June 5th to June 11th.

These games launched in the short term may not contribute to Sui's expansion of the number of users. From the expansion of the Sui ecosystem to the entire crypto industry, if you want to truly break through the circle, you have to be a 3A-level chain game like Abyss World, which can attract a lot of attention from the outside world before it is released. Abyss World will officially launch open beta in the third quarter of this year, and most of the games that players are looking forward to such as Grand Cross: Metaworld will not be launched until later this year. After this round of "warm-up", Sui still needs to have games that can really attract a large number of users to prove its strength.
