According to Anton Tkachev, a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications, parliamentarians are currently discussing the issue of creating a national cryptocurrency exchange.
According to Tkachev, the national cryptocurrency exchange should exist “together with a bank in which the maximum percentage of shares will belong to the state.”
The main task of creating a national exchange, according to the deputy, is to receive additional contributions to the budget.
Tkachev insists that there is no talk of legalizing cryptocurrencies as a means of payment; on the other hand, the deputy said that “it will become easier for individual entrepreneurs to conclude contracts with friendly countries. People will be able to buy real estate or cars, which will affect the growth of purchasing power and help reclaim empty square meters of housing.”
