#美国9月CPI数据 : Annual rate falls to 2.4%, slightly higher than expected US
Inflation fell to 2.4% in September,
which was lower than the 2.5% year-on-year increase in August,
but higher than economists' expectations of 2.3%.
The Fed is considering another rate cut at its next meeting in November.
The latest CPI report marks the sixth consecutive month of decline in annual headline inflation.
In the year ending in September,
core inflation, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, rose to 3.3%,
after an increase of 3.2% in August.
The latest data comes as
Democratic Vice President Harris is trying to deal with voters' dissatisfaction with the rising costs of her campaign for the White House.
This set of data will also be the last set of CPI data before the November 5 election.
