Iliad Group prepares for the AI revolution
To prepare for the AI revolution, the French telecom giant has invested about $105 million to create a laboratory in Paris for AI research.
In addition, it has purchased an NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD equipped with an NVIDIA DGX H100 system, which Iliad Group claims is the world’s most advanced AI supercomputing platform.

Xavier Niel, Chairman of the Iliad Group, said:

Iliad Group’s investment is one of the latest big rounds of money to flow into the AI ecosystem. On Monday, media reported that tech giant Amazon plans to invest $4 billion in Anthropic, the AI startup responsible for developing the Claude chatbot, a competitor to ChatGPT.
Venture capital firm SoftBank has been on the offensive in artificial intelligence investments, and last week it was reported that it was leading a $280 million investment in US location mapping company Mapbox.
In addition, AustralianSuper, Australia's largest pension fund, has invested $1.6 billion in Vantage data centers to support artificial intelligence infrastructure.
