Germany and the US appear to be vying for influence over the Bitcoin market.
Addresses linked to the German and US governments recently transferred $737.6 million in Bitcoin to exchanges including Coinbase, Bitstamp and Kraken, as well as some over-the-counter market makers Flow Traders.

This stems from cases involving Centra Tech's defunct cryptocurrency debit card ploy and Gary Harmon. Ironically, he stole bitcoins that were confiscated by the US government.
In total, the US and German governments have sent about $1.14 billion in seized Bitcoin, Ether and stablecoins to exchanges and other trading platforms over the past four years.
