Ai+DePIN has become the deterministic narrative of this cycle, and its imagination is big enough to accommodate massive web2+web3 funds. Eliza Labs has reached a strategic partnership with IoTeX to integrate IoTeX's modular DePIN infrastructure with ElizaOS, enabling AI agents to leverage real-time data and services from the DePIN network and control physical devices in a decentralized environment. This collaboration will create a 'nervous system' for AI agents through the DePIN network, equipping them with perception, thinking, and execution capabilities. Specifically, IoTeX's DePIN network includes Nubila weather stations, GeodNet geographical sensor networks, and Pebble Tracker hardware devices, which will be integrated with ElizaOS to provide AI agents with real-time perception and decision-making abilities.
Additionally, the two parties have launched the first DePIN-aware AI agent, Bino AI, which demonstrates its perception and interaction capabilities through real-time data streams and device control. The broader DePIN ecosystem has already reported an ARR of over US$15 million. Such tangible successes demonstrate the economic viability of the sector, but with it comes a clear and pressing need for oversight:
DePIN network needs geolocation data for accurate mapping, distributed access to data from user devices, for example, often requires storage capacity for cloud-based solutions to operate efficiently. Due to the lack of clear guidelines, users and operators do not know the limits of data collection: how much data can DePIN access? What protections are in place to ensure confidentiality and prevent misuse? Without answers to these questions, users may be hesitant to participate, limiting the growth of the network.
The DePIN network relies on tokens that reward users for providing devices and data. Again, the lack of clear regulation raises questions about fair remuneration.
