A lot of DePIN projects can prove one thing quickly: people are willing to add devices. The harder question is whether anyone is willing to keep using them. For a compute network, supply and demand need to be separated. More processors mean more potential capacity, but an idle network is still just unused capacity. The metric I care about is not only how many devices are online, but who is paying for computation and how often that demand returns. @Acurast has already shown that its network can run different workloads, from APIs and scheduled jobs to LLM inference and confidential computing. Laya/System One also shows that specific AI inference workloads can run on the network. That proves execution capability. It does not automatically prove a mature demand market. The next thing I would watch is the structure behind deployments: what kinds of workloads keep coming back, whether developers are willing to continue paying compute costs, and whether the protocol can turn available compute into recurring usage. Supply decides how much capacity exists. Demand decides whether that capacity matters. That’s the part I’m watching. #Acurast https://hub.acurast.com/rebellion?ref=u09wbr

Acurast: Turn idle phones into valueWhenever we talk about AI compute power, the first things everyone thinks of are GPUs, data centers, and cloud providers. But what @Acurast made me start thinking about is this: out of all those phones we’ve replaced, how much computing capability has not been put to use—besides sitting in a drawer collecting dust? “Outdated” phones are often not truly obsolete—many times it’s just that the battery doesn’t last, the storage isn’t enough, or we simply want a new device. Its processor doesn’t necessarily lose its value. What Acurast does is connect these scattered phones to a computing network, so developers can run applications on them.

Girls, good evening! When I saw that #Acurast Deploy Agent supports Base USDC, and it says "no ACU account needed," I was instantly confused. Wait, can you deploy directly with USDC? Is ACU not needed? After reading the documentation, I finally understood. @Acurast There were already multiple deployment routes: the CLI and SDK still go through ACU. The Deploy Agent separately opened an x402 / USDC channel—it's a completely independent set of entry points. I had been mixing two things up. What you pay for deployment, and ACU’s role in the network, are absolutely not the same thing. All of ACU’s original use cases are preserved. Deployment fees, network fees, various rewards, and collator rewards are still there. So this entry point not requiring an ACU account doesn’t mean ACU has been phased out. As for the underlying settlement after paying with USDC—whether it’s automatically converted, and how computation costs are calculated—there isn’t complete official clarification yet. No wild guessing. I’ll keep waiting for the official follow-up disclosures. https://hub.acurast.com/rebellion?ref=ikgnqo

Over the past few cycles, we’ve looked at whether a network has grown—people are used to starting by checking its size. How many machines, how many regions are covered, and how large the network is—these numbers are indeed important. But once a network begins expanding its scale, I think there’s another question worth considering: why are these devices willing to stay? This time, peaq announced the first batch of 1,000+ Acurast Processors, which have already been launched on peaqOS, and they plan to bring more Processors into this environment. One particularly interesting variable is that activating a Processor requires a bond $PEAQ . According to the rules peaq has published, the bond is denominated in USD, locked as $PEAQ , and this portion is not recoverable. When a machine leaves, 50% is destroyed according to the rules, and 50% goes into the peaq Treasury. This mechanism in itself can’t prove that the network will definitely be more stable, nor can it predict in advance whether it will bring more real tasks. But it makes me think about a long-term issue: once a decentralized compute power network reaches a certain scale, will the costs for participants to enter and exit start to affect network quality? Being online is one thing, and being willing to stay online long-term is another. Going forward, I’ll pay more attention to whether the number of Processors continues to grow, whether the machines after activation actually stay, whether there’s real task demand, and whether there is ongoing payment for usage. Scale solves the supply problem. Time will tell us whether these participants have truly become part of the network. @Acurast #Acurast https://hub.acurast.com/rebellion?ref=qqj0i8

Many projects list a long string of token use cases, yet you still don’t know where it circulates day to day. $ACU This part is relatively easy to understand: developers pay for compute jobs with ACU; people who run the Processor receive incentives; token holders can stake, delegate, and also participate in network voting. I think of it as a set of settlement and coordination mechanisms built around how compute power operates. Developers send out tasks, devices provide the computation, and the network allocates incentives according to the rules. If the rules change, token holders vote on it. The more people use the system, the more often ACU shows up in it. Acurast has also publicly disclosed the ACU allocation, unlock schedule, and governance rights. Official materials further note that the network does not use privileged multisig—no party can secretly modify balances or redirect rewards. Next, I’ll keep looking at the task volume and developer payments. These two indicators are more meaningful than short-term hype. @Acurast #Acurast #ACU #DePIN
