About KlimaDAO
KlimaDAO is a blockchain-based carbon economy initiative that aims to catalyze global change in carbon emissions by providing users with tokenized carbon offset credits. KlimaDAO works to generate carbon credits and issue them as blockchain tokens, with each KLIMA token representing an offset of one ton of carbon emissions.
KlimaDAO users are able to stake KLIMA within its ecosystem in order to earn rewards. The KlimaDAO project is open-source and operates via a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that allows token holders to participate in the future of the KlimaDAO ecosystem.
KlimaDAO uses a reserve asset called Base Carbon Tonne (BCT). KLIMA tokens enter circulation when BCT is locked up in the KlimaDAO project treasury. The KlimaDAO ecosystem also includes a number of platforms that facilitate the trade of carbon assets and KLIMA tokens, which include the Toucan Carbon Bridge, and a bonding mechanism that allows users to trade a share of a liquidity pool with the Klima project in return for KLIMA tokens.
