Binance Blockchain Week Paris 2022 — NBA Star Tony Parker and Artist Julien Durix to Discuss Their “Like A Brush” NFT Collab for Charity
Four-time NBA champ Tony Parker and pop artist Juliex Durix are raising money for charity via pop-art NFTs.
An exclusive fireside chat with the collaborators will explore how Web3 is changing the art industry.
The Binance Blockchain Week is taking place in Paris from September 14 to 16. The second day will kick off at 09:30 (UTC+2) with a blockbuster appearance from Tony Parker — one of the most successful French basketball players in the history of the NBA.
Blockchain technology has the potential to transform the art industry forever. Web3 offers an entirely new way for people to create, collect and experience art. We’re excited to share the news that the second day of Binance Blockchain Week Paris 2022 will begin with an exclusive fireside chat exploring this topic.
Binance’s VP of Global Marketing, James Rothwell, will be welcoming renowned French artist Julien Durix to discuss what we can expect from a world where pop art meets Web3. The morning session on September 15 will also feature six-time NBA all-star Tony Parker, who has collaborated with Durix on a series of NFTs. The French pop artist has created a collection of 3,333 NFTs and invited Parker to be part of the creative process on 111 of them. All the money made from the sale of the 111 Parker-Durix NFTs will be entirely donated to Parker’s charity: Infinity Care.
Binance’s Commitment to Charity
We’re particularly interested in Tony Parker and Julien Durix’s use of NFTs to raise money for charity, given our commitment to using crypto to help good causes.
Binance Charity is the first-ever blockchain-enabled transparent donation platform. Since its inception in 2018, Binance Charity has donated more than $10 million in support of projects making the world a better place. From helping in the wake of global disasters to tackling complex social and environmental issues.
The 111 NFTs Parker has worked on with Durix as part of the artist’s “Like A Brush” collection are not a Binance Charity initiative. They are, however, an extremely interesting example of how crypto can be used to support the charity sector. As such, we’re thrilled to have both Parker and Durix open Day Two of Binance Blockchain Week Paris 2022. The fireside chat will start at 09:30 (UTC+2) on September 15.
Tennis Champion Maria Sharapova Also Appearing on Day Two
Four-time NBA champion Tony Parker isn’t the only sporting superstar to be discussing Web3 at Binance Blockchain Week Paris. Five-time Grand Slam tennis champion Maria Sharapova will also be in attendance on Day Two (September 15). Like Parker, she’ll be joining Binance’s VP of Global Marketing, James Rothwell, for an exciting fireside chat.
During her career as a tennis player, Sharapova was first ranked world number one at the age of 18, and is one of only ten women in history to achieve the career Grand Slam. Since retiring in 2020, she has continued to make a name for herself as an entrepreneur, art collector, and Web3 enthusiast. Maria Sharapova will be speaking about her Web3 experiences and why she's bullish on the space. Come join us in Paris to find out more.
