August yielded a record month in RWA perp volume.
Tracked RWA perp markets generated $751.9B in August, up from $708.3B in July.
96.27% of that volume was priced by Pyth.
Cash markets do not share a clock, and RWA perps don’t wait for them to agree.
August showed why that matters.
Memory equities traded in both directions. Korean exposure sold off and recovered. Moderna rose 176.97% in one session after positive Phase 3 results with Merck.
Different markets. Different schedules. One place to keep trading.
The market stayed equity-led.
Equities accounted for $487.3B, or 64.8% of tracked volume. Commodities followed at $152.3B, indices at $103.9B, and FX at $8.3B.
The largest markets by notional volume were SanDisk, gold, SK Hynix, SpaceX, SOXL, Micron, silver, crude oil, Direxion Korea 3X, and SKHY.
Venue activity remained concentrated.
Binance led with 58.2% of volume, followed by OKX at 15.2% and Hyperliquid at 11.3%. The top five venues handled 95% of tracked volume.
On the pricing side, Pyth remained the dominant data provider.
$723.77B in August RWA perp volume was priced by Pyth, compared with $28.13B from other sources.
That is the market-structure point.
RWA perps are bringing equities, commodities, indices, FX, and macro exposure into markets that trade around the clock.
When traditional markets close, pause, or have not opened yet, those venues still need usable reference prices.
August closed with $751.9B in tracked RWA perp volume.
96.27% priced by Pyth.
