‎Why the rally? The bigger narrative: amid geopolitical tensions (US–Iran, oil), some investors are seeking assets that are hard to track. Narratives = fuel for capital rotation.

‎💡 Today’s lesson for traders:
‎1. When $BTC moves sideways, capital often shifts to hot narratives. Watch sector rotation, not just the price of one coin.
‎2. Privacy coins are EXTREMELY volatile and at risk of being delisted from major exchanges due to regulations. Don’t go all-in.
‎3. Don’t chase a green candle that’s already gone vertical — wait for a retrace, set a stop-loss, or buy in stages.

‎$ETH is also up ~3%, $SOL +4% — a healthy market is one where gains are broad-based, not concentrated in just one coin. Stay alert: ~$2 billion worth of $BTC/$ETH options expire TODAY, so volatility could show up at any time.

‎Over my morning coffee, I read some news that left me shaking my head 🤯

‎The IHSG plunged 11.5% IN A SINGLE DAY last Friday — its steepest daily drop since the 1998 crisis. It’s already down 40% since the start of the year. MSCI is considering downgrading Indonesia from an emerging market to a standalone market. If that happens, foreign capital could flow out of Indonesian stocks even faster.

‎Meanwhile... $BTC actually recovered to $82,000 this morning, nearing its level at the start of the year. US crypto ETFs recorded $62.5 million in inflows yesterday ($27.2 million for BTC, $26.6 million for SOL, and $25.79 million for XRP; ETH still saw $17 million in outflows) — a reversal after a week of consecutive outflows. $ETH and $BNB also stabilized.

‎It’s like two different worlds: money is panicking in local stocks, while people are starting to feel confident enough to move back into crypto.
‎
‎Key $BTC levels today: strong support at $81K — if that breaks, watch $79.7K. Resistance is at $82.5–83K: a break above that would open the way for a recovery toward $83K.

☀️ This Afternoon’s Market Update — Saturday, Oct 17

$BTC is being tested yet again, holding around ~$81.3K after briefly hitting a wall at $82.8K. The cause is coming from outside crypto: Nasdaq plunged 2.1% overnight, semiconductor stocks have been in the red for 8 consecutive sessions (the longest streak since 2008!), and Brent crude has broken above $110/barrel. The market is worried inflation will rise again.

But there are 2 interesting facts today 🧐

1️⃣ Crypto liquidations over the past 24 hours were only ~$315 million — compare that with $1 BILLION on last week’s “PPI day.” That means excessive leverage has been flushed out, and the market is now healthier and less burdened.

2️⃣ Google searches for “Bitcoin” have fallen to their LOWEST point in several years. That’s actually a good thing — the dangerous market is one caught up in euphoria, not one that’s quiet.

💡 Today’s lesson: yesterday, $ZEC gained +13% to become the top gainer; today, it plunged -5.9%. When an altcoin has just taken off, DON’T chase the green candle. That’s a momentum trap, not a buy signal.

🎯 A tip to stay safe this afternoon: when the market is this quiet, it’s time to be patient. Keep your position size small, and don’t go heavy on leverage before tonight’s US session. $ETH is still at $2.4K, $SOL at $104, and $BNB at $719 — be patient, wait for confirmation, don’t guess.
